With the gradual deepening of research in the marine field, target polarization imaging technology has become a hot spot of concern and research in various countries at home and abroad.Underwater laser active imaging is based on the spectral, temporal and spatial characteristics of seawater to blue-green laser to achieve underwater imaging targets, overcoming the low resolution and short detection range caused by underwater sonar imaging systems. However, the scattering and absorption generated by the transmission of light in the water will reduce the quality of the underwater target polarization image. In this paper, the underwater target imaging experiment is designed by analyzing the scattering characteristics of suspended particles in water medium, and the target image is acquired by using time-division rotating polarizer. In this paper, the 532 nm blue-green laser in the visible light band is selected for underwater polarization imaging. The imaging system collects intensity images of three different angles and calculates the corresponding Stokes images. For the problem of poor quality, blurred texture details and low contrast for underwater polarized images, the paper studies the multi-scale decomposition method based on lifting wavelet transform, and performs image fusion enhancement processing to improve the quality of polarized images. In this paper, the polarization degree image and the polarization angle image reflecting the detailed texture information are combined to generate a polarization combined image;then, the polarization combined image and the light intensity image are subjected to multi-scale decomposition. For the low-frequency component of the decomposition-approximation information and the high-frequency component reflecting the detail information, this paper proposes a regional energy as a weighting coefficient and a fusion rule based on the combination of regional variance;finally, the inverse transform is used to reconstruct the image to generate the final fusion image.Experimental simulations show that the fusion method proposed in this paper has certain advantages in improving image contrast and sharpness compared with traditional image fusion methods. This has laid a good foundation for the field of resource exploration, seabed topography and submarine exploration, etc.
