In response to the national strategic deployment of "going out for mineral resources exploration and development",the domestic geological prospecting units actively carry out overseas mineral exploration in different forms and ways.Based on the third batch of foreign mineral resources risk exploration special projects in 2011,this paper studies the geological characteristics and resource evaluation of copper-iron deposits in the study area.The study area is located in the northern part of the Irumide belt and the southern part of the Mozambican belt.The basement is mainly composed of amphibolite-phase gneiss and altered granulite developed in the region.The deformation and metamorphism of multiple times are experienced in the area.The structure of the rock is mainly isoclinal fold in the north-east direction,and the line is developed.The magmatic rock in the area is mainly the Mesozoic coarse-grained granite.The cause of the aeromagnetic anomaly is identified by the high-precision ground magnetic measurement,and the occurrence and scale of the iron ore body are explored.Through soil geochemistry,the favorable metallogenic area of copper mineralization belt is selected,and the IP intermediate gradient survey is carried out in the geochemistry anomaly area,and the distribution characteristics and distribution scale of geophysical field in the favorable area of mineralization in the study area are understood.Hematite stone is xenomorphic-granoblastic texture,the magnetite is distributed in hematite,and the quartz of grain structure is distributed in hematite.The ore structure is massive.The deposit is formed because of the formation of metamorphosed iron and silicon,and the magnetite loses its magnetism after oxidation,resulting in the formation of hematite with the crystal shape of magnetite.The iron ore body is in the form of a layer and a lenticular output.The length of the iron ore body is 300 m,the strike angle is345 °,the inclination is east with a dip angle of 63 °,the thickness of the orebody is 7.78 m,and(TFe)the average grade is 55.96%.Iron ore body is iron ore for steel making,and the amount of iron ore is 5.5227 million tons.The copper mineralization broken alteration zone is about 400 m long and 100 m ≤110 m deep,which is controlled by the NE fault.The surface shape of orebody is simple.The copper-iron deposit occurs in the contact fault zone between coarse-grain granite and mixed gneiss.
