Since the 1980 s,remote sensing,geographic information system,satellite imaging and other technologies have made continuous breakthroughs in their respective fields.Using image processing,information extraction and remote sensing interpretation and other technologies and methods;Methods to study the spatial distribution and structural mineralization alteration of geological bodies have become an important technique in regional geological survey.In recent years,with the successive use of ETM,Landsat 8 and domestic high-resolution satellite images,which can be used to analyze and study the geological and mineral profiles in some key areas and narrow the range of prospecting,remote sensing geological interpretation has provided more options,which is conducive to the rapid advance of geological prospecting.Northeast of Jeddah,Saudi Arabia is located in Africa-Arab metallogenic province,that is rich in mineral,complex geological structure and magmatic hydrothermal activities,multi-metal mineralization is very development,metallogenic potential is tremendous.But the existing geological background data is less,and the old,geological map scale is smaller,the geological exploration work degree is lower,the domestic resource exploitation situation of this area is also less understood.There are large areas of prospecting blank in northeast of Jeddah,the existing data has been reflected in the region have a certain polymetallic mineral resources development potential,in response to a national strategy of “the Belt and Road”,for the domestic mining companies overseas investment projects in Saudi Arabia based data,in order to find the metallogenic position of polymetallic deposit in this area,the prospecting prospect area was defined,this paper,by using Landsat 8?GF-2 et al different resolution of satellite remote sensing image as data source,such as using methods of radiation calibration? atmospheric correction?color composite?principal component analysis?density slice of satellite image processing;Based on the analysis of the existing geological data in this region,the remote sensing image of linear-ringstructure in the northeast of Jeddah was interpreted,and the mineralized alteration information was extracted by using the method of "principal component analysis-optimal density segmentation";Based on the comprehensive analysis of the geological characteristics of the remote sensing images of seven iron ion alteration zones and the selection of the linear-ring structures conducive to mineralization,the favorable mineralization sites in the northeast of Jeddah was predicted,and three prospecting prospective areas were delineated to provide reference information for further prospecting in this area.The GF-2 and Goolge earth images were used to verify the prediction of metallogenic favorable sites in the northeastern region of Jeddah,Saudi Arabia,it is further proved that the magmatic intrusion in the annular tectonic zone and the fracture junction are favorable places for metallogenesis in the study area.The research results can provide reference for further prospecting in this area.
