With the hot strip steel production technology toward the "thinner,wider,more accurate" direction,it has put forward higher requirements for product quality.Hot strip rolling production is a complex process of high temperature,multi variable and dynamic transient,in order to further study the characteristics of the section of the hot strip rolling process,especially the edge change,this paper used Abaqus nonlinear finite element software,the whole process of vertical and horizontal 10 pass rolling of hot strip mill is simulated by the coupled thermo mechanical method,the variation of temperature field and rolling force in the finishing process was studied,and the characteristics of the measured spot temperature and the steady rolling pressure of the rolling pass are verified.On this basis,the variation law of the temperature field and the equivalent stress and strain of the rolling process,the flow pattern of the section of the rolling section,especially the edge metal,are analyzed.Based on the analysis and comparison of two models of side pressure of vertical roller and no side pressure of vertical roll,The simulation results show that the cross section central point temperature of the rolled piece and the steady state rolling forces of each Hot-rolling passes are in agreement with the measured values;incompatible strain of the edge metal which turns over to the edge on the surface is caused by bigger temperature difference of rolled piece edge and angle compared to the center along the width direction;some tensile stress in the rolled piece edge and angle because of cold-contraction effect has an effect on heal or expand of the rolled piece angle defects;Vertical roller side pressure adjustment is beneficial to uniformity of transverse equivalent stress and strain of rolled piece,which can significantly improve the edge defects that may occur due to the thinning and flattening of the edge of the workpiece.The variable regularity of the metal position of steel strip surface during the rolling passes can make it convenient to find and analyze the rolling edge defects in the production process.
