High Energy Physics is a cutting-edge subject of contemporary physics. In the field of heavy ion acceleration, the data transmission system used by the traditional Beam Position Monitor(BPM)is mainly based on the frameworks such as Experimental Physical and Industrial Control System(EPICS),and Object Linking and Embedding for Process Control Unified Architecture(OPC-UA),etc.There are problems such as high latency and low throughput so the performance of BPM cannot be fully utilized. This thesis takes the BPM data transmission of Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou(HIRFL)as the application scenario, analyzes the problems existing in the data transmission process and their causes, and investigates the technical solutions of some domestic and foreign scientific research institutions and commercial companies. Then this thesis has designed and implemented a RoCE-based Fast Data Transmission System(RFDTS),which provides a feasible solution for the current problems. Here RoCE stands for Remote Direct Memory Access over Converged Ethernet. The system is in Client/Server(CS)mode and mainly consists of the control module, the work pool module, the queue module, the communication module, and the data acquisition/ handling module. The main research of this thesis is as follows: 1)introducing the basic principles of RoCE communication, detailed RFDTS architecture and the design and the design and implementation of main functional modules;2)comparing and selecting among different communication methods for data transmission, and proposing solutions for the overhead caused by frequent creation and destruction of dynamic resources;3)evaluating the proposed approaches according to the performance of memory access optimization effect proposed in this thesis and the system performance such as latency and throughput etc.The experimental results show that RFDTS can meet the BPM data transmission requirements with good scalability. This system can be utilized in more short message communication scenarios with low latency requirements, such as BPM control systems, and other high-speed data acquisition systems, industrial control systems, etc.
