The sea area of the South China Sea is vast,the geographical location is superior,the natural resources of the sea are rich,and there are a large amount of oil and gas and fishery resources.As a valuable land resource,the South China Sea Island Reef is of great strategic significance to the maintenance of the sovereignty of the South China Sea and its maritime rights and interests.The coral sand,which is distributed on the island,is a kind of special rock and soil medium,and its mechanical property and the quartz sand of the land source are very different.As an important parameter of the micro-structure of sand,the particle shape has an important influence on its mechanical properties.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the characteristics of coral sand and its influence on the strength of deformation.In this paper,In this paper,PTS 3D scanner and PartAn3 D particle morphology observation system were used to test and evaluate coral particles and other samples of different shapes,and the change rule of particle shape parameters was analyzed.Through the direct shear test and consolidation test in laboratory,the influence of the coarse sand particle shape on the deformation strength of coral was preliminarily analyzed.The main research contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)PTS 3D scanner and PartAn3 D particle morphology observation system were used to test coral particles and other samples of different shapes,and the particle shape was quantified by using image processing and analysis technology.Four shape parameters were selected and the morphological characteristics of coral sand and gravel were statistically analyzed.The statistical results showed that the shape of coral sand and gravel was irregular,and its shape parameters(sphericity,roundness,length-width ratio and flatness)were highly sensitive,which could well reflect the morphological characteristics of particles.(2)with the aid of PartAn3 D series particles morphology observation system for five different shape of coral sand(size 1 ? 2 mm)to test,and through laboratory direct shear test to explore the influence of particle shape on the sandy soil shear strength,the test results show that the four shape parameters and there are good linear relationship between Angle of internal friction,coral sand particle shape is irregular,the greater the amount of particle breakage,the peak value,the smaller the Angle of internal friction,the greater the residual internal friction Angle,shear coral sand particle shape after more rules,more smooth surface.(3)through the indoor particle shape on the coral sand consolidation test inquiry(size 1 ?2 mm)deformation,the influence of the test results show that the initial compression stage,the shape of calcareous sand,the more rules,the less the compression modulus of average,namely the compressibility,the greater the Micronesia compressibility than of calcareous sand under the dense conditions;In broken phase,particle shape parameters and the linear relationship between compression index Cc(average)is better,calcareous sand particle shape is irregular,the greater the compression index,namely the compressibility,the greater the compressibility of calcareous sand under condition of Micronesia is still greater than dense state,calcareous sand particle shape is irregular,happen a lot of broken when the vertical stress of the smaller,after test coral sphericity and roundness of coarse sand increases on the whole,and overall decreased aspect ratio and flat degree,particle shape tends to the rules.
