In recent years,with the development of miniaturization and integration technologies,optical microcavities have received a lot of attention.Because of its small mode volume and high quality factor,Whispering Gallery mode optical microcavity stands out in Fabry Perot cavity and photonic crystal microcavity.WGM microcavities have been extensively studied in many fields(such as micro lasers,high-precision sensors,and nonlinear optics,etc.),but there are some obvious drawbacks in whispering-wall mode microcavities: the resonance characteristics of whispering-wall mode coupling are easily affected by the outside The environmental impact(such as the outside temperature and tiny dust,etc.)makes WGM still only in the laboratory stage,and it is still some time before it is practical.This article mainly conducts theoretical and experimental research on some basic parameter characteristics of WGM optical microcavity(such as quality factor,free spectral range,resonance wavelength,etc.),and understands its characteristics more clearly through simulation and simulation research.The main research contents of this article are:The research background and significance of WGM microcavity are briefly described,and the microcavities are classified according to different parameters,and the research status of WGM microcavities at home and abroad is introduced.Introduced the basic theory of WGM microcavity,introduced the basic parameters in detail and analyzed the influence of various parameters on the structure,then analyzed the eigenmodes in the microsphere cavity and the microcavity cavity from the Maxwell equations,and introduced several categories Different microcavity coupling methods were analyzed specifically for the fiber cone coupling method.The coupling system of microcavity and fiber cone was simulated with R-soft software,the influence of fiber cone diameter and coupling distance on the coupling result was analyzed,and a set of more suitable coupling parameters(fiber cone size 0.5 ?m,coupling Distance 0.1?m).Afterwards,the parameters of the microcavity(such as the diameter of the microsphere and the inner diameter of the microtube of the same specification)were further analyzed.The specific experimental research on the coupling system studied in this paper is carried out,the preparation of the device is briefly introduced,and then the effect of the microsphere cavity size,microlumen size,and microlumens with the same outer diameter and different inner diameter on the coupling result is explored And analyzed the conclusion,and finally briefly introduced the encapsulation method of two types of coupling structures.
