With the increasing application of digital core technology in the petroleum field, problems such as modeling difficulties and high cost in conventional petrophysical experiments can be solved by digital petrophysics. The numerical simulation technology of digital core has made great achievements in the fields of rock electrical, acoustic and seepage characteristics, but this technology has great room for improvement in radioactive characteristics. The nuclear detection technology based on digital core needs to be broken.Difficulties arise in the process of creating a digital core model. One of the important directions is to study the physical and numerical properties of the model in a complex formation environment. In this paper, the three-dimensional digital core of carbonate rock was successfully constructed based on X-ray CT scanning technology. The thermal neutrons have a large nuclear reaction difference to the core skeleton and core fluid, and the projected image of thermal neutrons is successfully obtained.By modeling and analyzing the thermal neutron transport characteristics in the case of different core components,it is shown that there is a good correlation between the thermal neutron count difference and the pore distribution. Finally,by simulating the effect of temperature on the experiment, the results show that the thermal neutron count difference distribution is directly related to the density of the fluid in the pore space.
