Because the mid-infrared band covers the atmospheric window area and the absorption lines of many gas molecules,the laser in this band has shown important application prospects in the fields of military and civilian.Therefore,the development and utilization of mid-infrared lasers are of vital importance to national defense and economy.Based on this,the research of mid-infrared laser materials is particularly important.Among all the mid infrared laser materials,fluoride glass and its derivative materials fibers and micro-nano composite glass are considered as ideal mid infrared laser gain medium materials because of their low phonon energy,high rare earth ion solubility and excellent mid infrared spectral properties.However,the fluoride system materials still have poor stability and need further development.Based on this,the high quality preparation and properties of fluoride glass fiber and micro nano composite glass are systematically studied.The specific work and innovations are as follows:?1?The effect of the anion Cl-in the modifier and dehydrating agent of fluoride glass on the glass matrix was systematically studied,and the most mature fluorozircon glass was selected as the matrix material.It was found that the effect on glass was non-linear.The thermal stability and fluorescence performance of the glass decreased sharply when 1 mol%chloride ions were added.?T was reduced from 84?to 69?,and the fluorescence lifetime at 1.5?m was reduced from 20.3 ms to 8.9 ms.However,the properties of the glass would gradually recover with the continuous doping of chlorides ion.The reason for these phenomena was the change of the glass structure due to the chloride ion doping.The incorporation of a trace amount of chloride ions would destroy the fluorozirconium octahedral network and caused it to distort,leading to the decrease of glass properties.With the gradual increase of the chloride ion content,the chlorozirconium would gradually form a chain structure and coexist with the fluorozirconium network structure,which would cause the performance of the glass to gradually recover.This result will provide theoretical guidance for the preparation of high quality indium fluoride glasses.?2?Based on the basic components of In F3-Ba F2-Sr F2-Zn F2,a more stable Ga F3-containing indium-fluoride glass system was explored,and bulk fluoroindium glass with high-quality and high-uniform was prepared under the protection of inert gas in the glove box.The?T of the glass reached 70?,the transmittance of the glass reached more than 90%in the mid infrared 3-5?m band,and the infrared cut-off edge was 8.3?m?7 mm thick?.On the basis of this,by changing the content of alkaline earth fluoride,and adding rare earth ion La3+to adjust their refractive index and stability performance.And the cladding glass with uniform quality was successfully prepared.In addition,an optical fiber preform with an outer diameter of 12 mm was prepared by pouring method and the indium fluoride fiber with high quality was successfully drawn.?3?According to the theory of phase separation,a simple method was used to prepare perfluorinated micro-nano composite glass In F3:(Sr0.84Lu0.16)F2.16 with uniform crystal phase distribution based on the composition of indium fluoride glass.The material exhibited an ultra-wide infrared transmission band?0.35-10.8?m,T?50%,1 mm thick?,excellent mechanical properties,chemical durability,spectral performance,and long lifetime?7.2 ms?of Er3+:2.7?m.Therefore,the material can be considered to have great development and application potential in the field of mid infrared laser sources and windows.The crystallization mechanism studied in this experiment can provide theoretical guidance for the suppression of the crystallization process of fluoroindium glass,as well as provide new ideas for the preparation of micro-nano composite glass of perfluoride system.
