Since the discovery of the Permian Wutonggou Formation reservoir in Xiquan029 well area of the Junggar Basin in 2016,there has been no comprehensive evaluation and interpretation of the Wutonggou Formation reservoir, resulting in unclear lithology, geological distribution and physical characteristics of the reservoir, which affects the formulation of further development plans. Therefore,it is necessary to evaluate the Permian Wutonggou Formation reservoir in the well area.In view of the above problems existing in the study area, according to the three-dimensional seismic data, logging curves, core data, reservoir analysis and laboratory data, etc.Based on the theory of sedimentary petrology and well logging geology, combined with the geological data of adjacent Wells, this paper studies the formation division and correlation of the Wutonggou Formation of the Permian system, single well facies analysis,well-connected sand body correlation, reservoir characteristics and so on.Studies suggest that the sedimentary facies of Wutonggou Formation are lacustrine facies,semi-deep lacustrine facies,fan-delta front subfacies, common underwater distributary channel microfacies, estuarine bar microfacies and far sand bar microfacies. The lithology of the reservoir is mainly medium sandstone, fine sandstone and siltstone with low porosity and low permeability on the whole.By establishing the reservoir evaluation criteria of the Wutonggou Formation, the reservoir is divided into two types: better and worse. The better reservoirs are mainly developed in the lower part of the second and third member of the Wutonggou Formation, while the worse reservoirs are mainly developed in the upper part of the first and third member of the Wutonggou Formation. The results provide a theoretical basis for the further development of the Wutonggou Formation in the study area.
