Emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases are vital to human health,national security,social stability and economic development.Since 2000,there have been new and recurrent infectious disease outbreaks in China every year,such as SARS,avian influenza,streptococcus suis disease,new bunya virus,dengue fever,which have pose a gread threat to Chinese social and economic development,as well as people's life and health.Early written accounts of disease have shown that some paramyxoviruses,such as measles virus,have circulated in human populations and caused substantial morbidity and mortality for centuries.In addition,in just the last several decades,the repeated zoonotic outbreaks of the highly lethal Hendra virus and Nipah virus have alerted us to the threat of emergence of as-yet-unknown paramyxoviruses into human populations from wildlife reservoirs.Wild animals are the source of emerging infectious diseases,and more than 70% of the pathogens of emerging infectious diseases are derived from wild animals.Rodents and insectivores,which have a large number,a wide variety of species and a global distribution,are intimately interacted with humans and livestock.Accordingly,the rat is accepted as human contagion the biggest infect source,which kind such as the closest with human activity.To better understand the prevalence and genetic evolution of paramyxovirus in small mammals in Henan province,410 small mammals were captured in Nanyangcity and jiyuan city.A total of 75 paramyxovirus were identified by nest-PCR,with a positive rate of 18.2%.The whole genome sequence of new discover paramyxovirus were amplified using the method of RT-PCR and Next generation sequencing technology in order to understanding the characteristic of genome and evolutionary relationship.The results showed the 8 strains of rodent virus were clustered with JPV,Bei PV and Tai PV,and shared the nucleotide homology of 58.4%-69.3%with themselves,ass well as shared homology of 53.8%-76.2% with viruses which on the same evolutionary branch.The genome structure of the newly discovered virus is similar to that of JPV,Bei PV and Tai PV,showed they may have the same characteristics.The newly discovered paramyxovirus,carried by rodents,did not detect recombination or rearrangement events in the viral genome.Moreover,they are clustered together with mammalian paramyxoviruses discovered in recent years and are geographically widespread,which mainly in the Indian Ocean islands.Notably,we found the novel Henipa-like virus that carried by shrews.Phylogenetic analysis show the novel virus was clustered together with Mojiang virus.And the newly virus shared the highest Rd Rp homology of 68.2% with Henipavirus,and shaie the Rd Rp homology of 57.3% with Ni V strain that broke out in Indian in 2018,indicating that this strain was a new species of nipahvirusandthere exists nipah virus in wild animals in henanprovince.In view of the important impact of paramyxoviruses on public health,it is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of paramyxoviruses in wild small mammals in Henan province.
