Maintenance and spare parts inventory are the two important parts in modern industry.Making an improvement in these parts can bring a lot of economic benefits for industry.Moreover,load-sharing system is common in mordern industrial system.Within this system,if a componment falis, the remaining ones share the load of the entire system, which leads to higher hazard rates of remaining ones than before. Now,in the inpendent research on these two issues at home and abroad,a few of research results have been made out and much few have been made out with taking load-sharing system into consideration. This paper present three aspects of research on joint optimization of maintenance policy and inventory levels for a load-sharing k/n system.Firstly, thejoint optimization of maintenance policy and inventory policy for a load-sharing k/n system is described several aspects, such as model assumptions, system operation mechanism, maintenance policy and spare parts inventory policy.Secondly, the joint optimization of maintenance policy and inventory policy for a load-sharing k/n system is built.Optimization objective is to minimize total cost.Optimization decision variables are inspection interval?,inventory order-up-to order level S and reorder level s.Simulation based on Monte Carlo method demonstrate the relationship between optimization decision variables and optimization objective. Then anactual examplebased on 3/5 system with different load intensity was given.Lastly, two comparative study on the load-sharing k/n system are conducted. One is compared between different inventory policy and results show that when making a joint optimization of maintenance policy and inventory policy for a load-sharing k/n system, the implementation of??,s,S?policy can reduce total cost and more effcient than??,S-1,S?policy.The other is compared between joint and separate optimization and the results show that joint optimization is better than separate optimization. Then the model parameters ?,?and the cost CSF are made sensitivity analysis.
