The main producing areas of jadeite are Myanmar,Guatemala,Japan,Russia and the United States,but there are few studies on jadeite in Guatemala.In recent years,Guatemala has produced more and more kinds of jadeite in the market,one of which is Guatemalan blue-water jadeite,mainly with weathered skin,fine texture,with white"snowflake floc"blue-water jadeite.In this paper,Guatemalan blue-water jadeite is taken as the main research object.The macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of market raw stone and finished products,sample samples,macroscopic characteristics observation,conventional Gemological test,microscopic structure observation and modern test technology analysis?electron probe analysis,infrared spectrum analysis,laser Raman spectrum analysis,X-ray powder diffraction?are analyzed,and the macroscopic and microscopic characteristics are also analyzed.The mineral composition,structural characteristics and color genesis of the jadeite were studied.The gemological and Mineralogical Significance of Guatemalan blue water jadeite was discussed.The research results of Guatemalan blue-water jadeite are as follows:Under polarizing microscope,the main mineral composition of Guatemalan blue water jadeite with weathering crust is jadeite,which contains a sma ll amount of omphacite and mainly shows columnar and granular crystalline structure;the fine blue water jadeite mineral composition is relatively single jadeite,showing micro-crystalline structure;the main mineral of blue water jadeite with white"snowflake floc"is jadeite,showing metamorphic structure.Fine crystallization,white"snowflake floc"may be albite.The results of EPMA analysis show that the main components of Guatemalan blue water jadeite with weathered crust are jadeite,diopside jadeite and omphacite;the fine texture is composed of jadeite and diopside jadeite;the main components of Guatemalan blue water jadeite with white"snowflake floc"are jadeite and omphacite,and the white"snowflake floc"is albite.According to the data analys is,the contents of FeO,MgO and CaO are higher than the theoretical values,so the chromogenic ions Fe2+and Mg2+make them blue.X-ray powder diffraction?XRD?analysis showed that the main minerals of Guatemalan blue water jadeite with weathered crust were jadeite,with bright green parts containing a small amount of sodium chromium pyroxene;the main minerals in fine blue water were jadeite and chlorite;and the minerals in blue water material containing white‘snowflake floc”'were jadeite and omphacite.Infrared spectra show that Jadeite with weathered crust,fine texture and white"snowflake floc"of Guatemalan blue water jadeite shows the characteristic Raman peak of jadeite.Laser Raman measurements showed that Jadeite from Guatemala blue water exhibited characteristic Raman peaks at 1609 cm-1,1039 cm-1,700 cm-1,375 cm-1and 205 cm-1,some minor minerals,albite at 509 cm-1 and 481 cm-1,feldspar at 319cm-1,609 cm-1 and 358 cm-1,zircon at 480 cm-1,509 cm-1 and 1008 cm-1.The fine blue water material shows that the characteristic Raman peak of jadeite is mainly at696 cm-1;the white"snowflake Floc"Guatemalan blue water material jadeite has1608 cm-1,1039 cm-1,700 cm-1,375 cm-1 jadeite as the main peak,and the white"snowflake floc"as albite shows characteristic absorption peak at 508 cm-1,479 cm-1.
