With the development and utilization of photonic technology,microwave photonic technology(MPT)has attracted increasing attention,which combines photonic technology with microwave technology.MPT shows the advantages of wide bandwidth,low loss and electromagnetic immunity,which has widespread in many important applications such as astronomy,radar,satellite communications and so on.Among those applications,high quality photonic microwave signal generation is an attractive area.It is what noting that semiconductor optoelectronic devices have high response speed and the potential for integration.Therefore,the development of photonic microwave system based on semiconductor optoelectronic devices is a preferred choice to realize miniaturization and integration system.This work is based on the dynamic characteristics of semiconductor lasers,especially research the generation of photonic microwave signals by using the injection locking and period-one oscillation.The following works have been accomplished.An all-optical coupled microwave oscillator based on the injection locking of semiconductor laser is proposed.In this work,the fiber ring laser acts as a high-Q resonators,which participates in the frequency selection of oscillation microwave signals.The ultimate microwave frequency selection is realized by cavity modes transfer and injection locking mechanism.A semiconductor optical amplifier is utilized as an all-optical feedback modulator.The whole system has no any electrical microwave devices,which fully explores the advantages of microwave photonic technology.In the experiment,good quality microwave signals are successfully obtained,whose frequencies can be tuned from 6.93 GHz to 25.54 GHz.An all-optical microwave oscillator based on the period-one oscillation of semiconductor laser is proposed.In this work,a microwave seed signal is firstly generated through a semiconductor laser under self-delay optical feedback.Then optical-optical modulation is realized by using the carrier dynamic characteristics in semiconductor optical amplifier.Finally,single longitudinal mode oscillation is obtained by coupling a short loop with the self-delay optical feedback loop to further suppress the side modes.In the experiment,the tunable microwave signals from 6.10 GHz to 15.59 GHz are also successfully generated.
