Taxonomy Of Cteniopinus From China (Coleoptera:Tenebrionidae:Alleculinae)

Cteniopinus Seidlitz,1896 is a genus which belongs to Cteniopodini,Tenebrionidae,Tenebrionioidea,Polyphaga,Coleoptera.51 species of this genus are known in the world and about 43 species are recorded in China.The insects of Cteniopinus are mainly distributed in the Palaearctic region and majority of them are widely distributed in China.Adults are mostly active during the daytime and some at night,Some species,especially flower-eating species,are gregariousness and pollinating insect.Adults feed on plant leaves,but the main damage to plant caused by the larvae.The larvae grow in the soil and feed on the roots of plants,and are often regarded as agricultural and forest pests.Most of the taxonomic work were studied by foreign scholars from the end of the 19 th century to the middle of the 20 th century,and the taxonomic study of Cteniopinus in China started at the end of the 20 th century,however,China still lacks a relatively complete summary of Cteniopinus insects' classification.For this reason,it is of great theoretical significance to carry out taxonomic studies on the genus Cteniopinus in China.This thesis is mainly based on the collection specimens of the academic institutions such as Hebei University Museum and a large number of documents,and uses comparative morphological classification methods.The thesis includes two parts: general and individual theories,which relatively complete classification and summary of genus Cteniopinus in China.A total of 43 species of 2 subgenus were described in a standardized manner,8 species were initially described in Chinese,The keys of genus,the characteristics of species level,citation,synonym,specimen inspection information,geographical distribution information.synonyms and citations of each taxon are listed in chronological order;the available data on the geographical distribution are introduced.8 species of genus Cteniopinus were initially described in Chinese,they are Cteniopinus(Cteniopinus)semicoccineus Blair,1922;Cteniopinus(Cteniopinus)fossulatus Pic,1913;Cteniopinus(Cteniopinus)taiwanus K?no,1930;Cteniopinus(Cteniopinus)unicolor K?no,1930;Cteniopinus(Cteniopinus)rubithoracus Ren & Yang,2011;Cteniopinus(Cteniopinus)semicirculoris Ren & Yang,2010;Cteniopinus(Cteniopinus)zayicus Ren & Yang,2010;Cteniopinus(Cteniopinus)nigriepipleuron Ren & Yang,2010?...
