Jinsha River has long been a key area for hydropower development in China. The study of disaster mechanism and the understanding of landslide dynamics are of great significance to the construction of hydropower projects. In order to study the movement mechanism of the landslide, the kinematics modeling of the landslide is carried out by using PFC3 D discrete element numerical simulation software.Based on data collection and field investigation, the movement model of the landslide was constructed by using PFC3 D software, and the whole movement process of the landslide was analyzed. The main results of this paper are as follows.1.Conduct a preliminary study on the Samaoding landslide through the collection of relevant data and field investigation, including the terrain and geomorphology, geological structure, stratigraphic lithology, hydrometeor, hydrogeology, earthquake, etc. The source area and accumulation area of the landslide are investigated in detail. These data are the basis of the subsequent PFC modeling.2.A PFC calibration method based on deep learning is proposed.Firstly,in order to solve the problem of too complex structure and accuracy of neural network caused by too many microscopic parameters of PFC constitutive model, the sensitivity of the parameters was analyzed by uniform experimental design.Finally,288 sets of calibration tests were used as training set to train the network, and the calibration model was obtained.3.The terrain is modeled through three-dimensional elevation data and other data and the movement process of the landslide is simulated. The comparison between the accumulation form of simulation results and the actual accumulation form indicates that the simulation reflects the actual situation better. The velocity, displacement, unbalanced force and dynamics of the landslide are analyzed and studied. The results showed that the total time of the landslide was 400 s,but in fact, the main landslide had already slid to the bottom of the slope in the first 150 s,and 150s-400 s was mainly the time of the part remaining in the back end of the slide. The maximum speed of landslide is 24m/s,while the maximum speed of individual particles is 66m/s.However,the displacement of the landslide can only reach 1375 m due to the obstruction of the terrain. The landslide disintegrated at different stages in the process of movement.
