Gaoyan Manganese Deposit is a large-scale carbonate type manganese deposit in Chongqing,Southwest China.It is located in Chengkou County,Chongqing,and its geotectonic location is located in the deep fault in the south of Dabashan area.In order to improve the recovery rate and concentrate grade index of Gaoyan low-grade manganese ore in Chengkou,Chongqing,and realize the efficient utilization of mineral resources and the sustainable development of Gaoyan manganese ore deposit in Chengkou,this paper studies the occurrence state and process mineralogy of manganese by optical microscope,X-ray diffraction analysis,ICP-MS,ICP-OES,electron probe microanalysis and scanning electron microscope analysis.The results are as follows:1)Most of the manganese ore is poor ore,in Chengkou,Chongqing and the middle and high phosphorus iron and sulfur-containing manganese ore is the main ore chemical type,so harmful components such as Si O2,Cao,K2 O,Al2O3 and P need to be excluded during beneficiation.The ore is mainly massive structure,some of which have banded structure.Under the microscope,oolitic granular structure,berry spherical structure,colloidal structure formed by sedimentation and metasomatic erosion and metasomatic residual structure formed by later hydrothermal transformation can be seen.2)According to the EPMA and SEM analysis of Gaoyan manganese ore in Chengkou,the process types can be divided into carbonate type manganese ore,oxide type manganese ore and silicate type manganese ore.Manganese in ore samples is mainly distributed in the form of independent minerals and isomorphism in Rhodochrosite and manganese dolomite.Through the analysis of the characteristic curve of manganese mineral size distribution,it can be concluded that the grain size of Gaoyan manganese mineral in Chengkou is uneven,which belongs to the ore with uneven grain size.3)According to the data of chemical composition analysis of the original ore samples,concentrate samples and tailing samples in Gaoyan and Taizheng ore dressing plants,we can know that their dissociation degree is relatively low and the recovery rate has room for further improvement.Therefore,it is still necessary to increase the grinding particle size and improve their dissociation degree and recovery rate.In summary,the particle size of Gaoyan manganese mineral in Chengkou is uneven and the degree of dissociation is low.It is suggested that the beneficiation process be as follows: grinding(particle size range 0.5mm-1.3mm,grinding mesh number 35-12 mesh;and the particle size is mainly concentrated in 0.5mm-0.6mm,)? ore washing ? strong magnetic method beneficiation.In the process of grinding and beneficiation,it is better to select the stage grinding and stage beneficiation process.
