For the purpose of exploring purple mud of Jingdezhen local material and coal gangue as the main raw materials which used in the architectural ceramics.Performance of body was improved by adding feldspar.Orthogonal test method and single factor methods were employed to optimize the recipes which have low sucking water rate,high strength.It has reached technology indicators with which 0.4%body sucking water rate,anti-folding strength in 70MPa above,supreme strength for 108MPa.The optimum firing range is 1070?1100?.XRD,SEM and IR were employed to measure the the microstructure of the Architectural ceramics.The results show that the main Generate products are quartz and mullite which can improve the anti-folding strength.With the changes of purple mud and coal gangue in fixed firing range,sintering shrinkage of water absorption of the samples is bound to change.With the changing of firing temperature,water absorption and tensile strength of the samples vary;samples of water absorption is less than 0.3%with the amounts of purple clay being 34.1-40.5%.And its bending strength is greater than 70 MPa;When the amounts of coal waste is 37.545.7%,the water absorption of sample is less than 0.1%and bending strength is greater than 70Mpa.The results of Optimized formulations based on single factor experiments show that when the context of feldspar is 32.4-35.9%,its firing temperature decreases,samples of water absorption is less than0.3%and bending strength is greater than 80MPa at 1070 ?.The single factor experiments based on MY-3 show that its firing temperature decreases with the context of feldspar being 23.8-30.4%.The water absorption of samples is less than 0.3%,and bending strength is greater than 70MPa at 1070??Properties of ceramic tile meets the architecture requirements by adding Jingdezhen purple mud and coal waste as main raw material.It has a great effect on resource utilization and energy conservation as well environmental protection.In addition,it is also very beneficial to people's health.This not only effectively alleviates the pressure of Jingdezhen ceramic raw materials locally scarce,but also opens up new ways of recycling,and utilization of industrial wastes.
