Polysulfone?PSF?membrane material was widely applied to water treatment attributing to excellently thermal stability,corrosion resistance and film formability,etc.But PSF material has a natural hydrophobic which will reduce its applications in water treatment of PSF ultrafiltration membrane.So researchers are trying to improve the performance PSF membrane.As a derivative of graphene,Graphene oxide not only have a large specific surface area,but also have an abandence of rich oxygen-containing functional groups.It has excellent chemical regulatory eactions that expand the application range of graphene oxide.Currently,graphene oxide is widely applied to modification of the polymer membranes because of its hydrophilic,high mechanical strength and other excellent performances.And it is wise to use GO as the hydrophilic modifier.However,the surface of graphene oxide contains a large number of hydrophilic groups which make a poor dispersion in polar solvent,and a relatively poor compatibility with the polymer matrix membrane.To solve the dispersity problem of graphene oxide in organic solvents and the compatibility with PSF matrix membrane of graphene oxide,GO was functionalized by 2-Bromopropiomyl bromide.The modified GO was doped in PSF matrix membrane to obtain the GO-Br/PSF composite membrane through immersion precipitation phase inversion method.The effect of different doping amount of the modified GO on the structure and performance of PSF matrix membrane was explored.FTIR,XPS analysis showed that the surface of graphene oxide was successfully grafted by 2-Bromopropiomyl bromide.SEM image analysis showed that the structure and morphology of preparation of hybrid membrane have been changed,the finger holes extending downward and dense layer thinner.Pure water flux,hydrophilicity,stain resistance of blend ultrafiltration membrane were improved by doping modified GO.When the additive amount of GO-Br:PSF=1:4,the water flux was170.84(L·m-2·h-1),the flux recovery ratio was 80%.The performance of hybrid membrane did not drop a lot after many cycles.The good dispersibility in organic solvent and compatibility with PSF matrix membrane were both achieved by 2-Bromopropiomyl bromide functional modified graphene oxide.The above experiments also showed that the performance of membranes can be increased.
