In recent years,the metal corrosion problem become more and more serious and need to solved urgently.The traditional surface treatment for metal was based on the use of chromate conversion and phosphate conversion.But the toxic chromate and ph-osphate can not meet the requirements of protecting environment.For this reason dev-eloping a environmentally benign metal surface treatment technology have attracted m-any researchers attention.Silane surface treatments have been developed as an alternat-ive for toxic and carcinogenic chromate-based treatments for many years.The studies concerning corrosion protection of metals using silane films have invariably demonstra-ted that silanes,a group of environmentally compliant chemicals,could efficiently pro-tect different types of metal against corrosion.But due to the limited thickness of sil-ane film and the poor mechanical properties,the silane film on metal which used for protecting metal from corrosion have the quite limited protective performance.We att-empts to the combined the cathode electrochemical deposition technology with the ad-ding of the nanoparticles to prepare the composite silane film.Graphene and graphene oxide(GO)have attracted increasing interest due to both of their excellent property and potential for a wide variety of applications,include barrier property.The great barrier property and higher aspect ratio of GO in comparison with those of normal nano-particles,initiated their potential application as barrier material adding into silane films.The exist of GO makes the composite silane film thicker and more compact,it looks like the GO is the bones of the composite silane film.And the well-disperse d and high aspect ratio of GO nanoparticles filles cracks or pores of the silane matrix and the corrosion medium encounter a more tortuous path in traversing among the silane matrix,resulting in an improved corrosion protection performance of the com-posite films.This work provides a novel method to prepare the composite silane films and provide the new way to use graphene oxide in metal corrosion protective filed.Here are the main content of this work:(1)preparation of DTES/GO composite silane filmWe use electrochemical deposition to preparation the DTES/GO composite silane fil-m on the 430 stainless steel,and the GO particles are well dispersed in silane matrix.The obtained composite silane film was investigated by seanning electron microscopy(SEM),water angle measurement,Raman pectrometer,X-ray photoelectron spectrosco-py(XPS),and the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)analysis and polarizati-on measurement were used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of the composite films.The result shows that the composite silane film was quite thicker and more compact with the use of the electrodeposition method and the adding of the graphene oxide,and the most important thing is this new method can improve the corrosion resistan-ce of the composite membrane.(2)preparation of Octyl triethoxysilane/Graphene oxide composite silane filmIn order to prove the universality of the method combine cathode electrochemical deposition and the adding of graphene oxide nanoparticles for different silane system.We try to use the same method to obtain the octyltriethoxysilane/graphene oxide com-posite film on 304 stainless steel,so we mixed graphene oxide particles into prehydr-olysis octyltriethoxysilane solution,finally octyltriethoxysilane/graphene oxide composite film was prepared on 304 stainless steel.The obtained octyltriethoxysilane/graphene oxide composite silane film was also investigated by seanning electron microscopy(SEM),water angle measurement,the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)analysis and polarization measurement were used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of the composite films.At the same time,we want to find out whether this compos-ite silane can protect the metal for a long time under extreme corrosion environment,we experiment with the immersion corrosion for a long tome,and the samples was characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM)and EIS test,the results show that the composite silane film has a stronger corrosion resistance under the longterm corrosion.But the if the graphene oxide nanoparticles break away from silane matrix,the corrosion medium will get to base metal which will promoting the corrosion.
