The co-monomers of different combination formula were added to the polymerization process of poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET)in order to obtain in-situ polymerization modified copolyester.The co-monomers were 2-carboxyethyl(phenyl phosphinic)acid(CEPPA),5-sodium sulfo bis(-hydroxyethyl)isophthalate(SIPE)as the third monomer and polyethylene glycol(PEG)as the fourth monomer,and isophthalic acid(IPA).The DSC,TGA,WAXS,Limiting Oxygen Index,UL-94,Trace Moisture Tester were used to investigate the thermal properties,crystallization behavior,flame retardant and hygroscopicity,respectively.The results showed that,using CEPPA as flame retardant in process of synthesis retardant polyester.the addition of SIPE reduced modified crystallization rate of copolyester and crystallinity,while its heat resistance and limiting oxygen index(LOI)reduced.The introduction of CEPPA and PEG at the same time,enhanced the crystallization speed of copolyester,flame resistance and water absorption.The water absorption of modified copolyester which was added with CEEPPA,SIPE,and PEG reached to 0.61%,and has a good flame retardant properties.The water absorption of the fiber has reached 1.20%,and 224% higher than the pure polyester fiber(0.37%).And added SIPE,PEG,IPA of modified polyester,the water absorption of the polyester is 147% higher than the pure PET(0.32%),but its heat resistance and limiting oxygen index(LOI)is reduced,but the crystallization is difficult.
