There are many people all over the world studying the quorum-sensing of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Somebody found that Pseudomonas aeruginosa produced a quorum sensing inhibitor, which markedly inhibit the activity of N-acylhomoserine lactone(AHL).This inhibitor can exist steadily in the culture, and has lower requirement to the storage environment. It was acid and alkaline stable, and the inhibitory activity of it could not be inactivated by incubated with high temperature. So the inhibitor is very suitable of curing the infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. But before we use it,we have to depurate it and know more about it.In this investigation we tried alcohol, macroporous adsorptive resins, high performance liquid chromatogram and ion exchange chromatography to depurate it,and the results showed that only alcohol and anion exchange chromatography were effective.According to the results we presume that the inhibitor is an inorganic micromolecule with powerful polarity. And then we found out that the effect of carbon source and nitrogen source is major, while the effect of culture quantity is lesser. Moreover we looked for the activity of the protease, the pectinase, the chitinase and the cellulase in the culture, but there was not any activity of them. From this investigation we know more about the inhibitor, and found out what to do next.
