Perylene bisimide derivatives(PBIs)are a kind of polycyclic aromatic compounds that have strong fluorescence and large ?-conjugated system.They have excellent properties with photic,thermal and chemical stability,and have potential applications in the field of dyes,liquid crystalline and biological fluorescent probes and so on.This paper studied mainly on the liquid crystal perylene bisimides with special properties,which were synthesized by attaching cholesterol,triphenylene and gallic acid units on the imide position(N-substitution)or at the bay position.The main contents are as follows:1.The liquid crystal perylene bisimides with cholesterol unit were designed and synthesized.Their liquid crystal and photophysical properties were studied.The results showed that different functional groups and different chain lengths of cholesterol ester effect on liquid crystal properties of perylene bisimide.2.The liquid crystal perylene bisimides with triphenylene unit were designed and synthesized.Their liquid crystal and photophysical properties were studied and the impact of steric different sizes at the bay was explored for the liquid crystal properties.3.The liquid crystal perylene bisimides with gallic acid unit were designed and synthesized.The results showed that the larger bay-substituents,the wider the mesophase temperature range.4.The liquid crystal perylene bisimides with BODIPY and gallic acid unit were synthesized.The results indicated that BODIPY can enhance the fluorescence intensity of perylene bisimide.
