The dissertation includes two parts:(1)The study of synthetic technology of 4-methyl catechol;(2)The study of synthetic technology of octadecyl gallate.The contents of this dissertation are summarized as follows:Part 1.The study of synthetic technology of 4-methyl catechol.4-Methylcatechol is not only used as preservatives and spices,but also used as an important organic raw materials and key intermediates in synthesis of rubber,dyes,pharmaceuticals and pesticides.However,two synthetic routes used for 4-methylcatechol have many disadvantages,for example,high production costs,complex experimental operation and serious environmental pollution.Inspired by the existing two synthetic routes of 4-methylcatechol,4-methylcatechol was prepared by oxidization 4-methyl salicylaldehyde with hydrogen peroxide,which was synthesized with Methanol-Magnesium method by 4-methylphenol.The reaction conditions,such as,the appropriate proportion of magnesium,paraformaldehyde and methanol,temperature and time were studied.By optimizing the reaction conditions,the target product was synthesized in yield of 70.1%and the purity being 99.7%,and the conduct research has been completed in the laboratory,The shortcomings of the existing synthetic routes of 4-methylcatechol was overcame in this study,for instance,a large number of solid material magnesium chloride was removed without increasing reaction steps,the amount of solvent was also greatly reduced,the cost of reaction and environmental pollution were reduced.So this route is more suitable for industrial production.Part 2.The study of synthetic technology of Octadecyl gallate.Octadecyl gallate is widely used in cosmetics and foods since it has strong antioxidant ability to scavenge oxygen free radicals.In addition,it is a promising drug for having a certain therapeutic effect on cardiovascular disease,viral disease,bacterial infections etc.The synthesis of octadecyl gallate has achieved a great success in the laboratory,while industrial production has not been able to find cheap raw materials and simple synthetic method.In this paper,Octadecyl gallate was synthesized by gallic acid and stearyl alcohol with the direct esterification.The reaction conditions,such as,the appropriate proportion of gallic acid and octadecyl alcohol,catalyst,solvent and temperature of esterification was intensive studied.By optimizing the reaction conditions,the target product was synthesized in yield of 80%and the purity being 98%.This article provides a excellent synthesis route with such advantages as raw materials easy to be gotten,mild reaction conditions,simplified operational procedure,low cost,suitable for mass synthesis of octadecyl gallate.This synthetic route can be used in industrial production and make large-scale applications of octadecyl gallate possible.The method laid the foundation for further biological and pharamacological activities study of octadecyl gallate.
