The development and the application of polyaramides and polyimides was introduced in this paper.The main contents and results obtained from the data are summarized as the follows:1.A novel compound,9,9-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)fluorenone(BHPA)and 9,9-bis(3-methyl-4-Hydroxyphenyl)fluorenone(BHMPA)were synthesized from anthrone,phenol and o-methylphenol in this experiment.which was then reacted with p-fluoronitrobenzene to produce 9,9-bis[4-(4-nitrophenoxy)phenyl]anthraqu-inone(BAPPA)and 9,9-bis[3-methyl-4-(4-nitrophenoxy)phenyl]anthraquinone(BMAPPA).And they reduced with hydrazine hydrateto give diamine monomer 9,9-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]anthraquinone(BNPPA)and 9,9-bis[3-methyl-4-(4-aminoph-enoxy)phenyl]anthraquinone(BMPPA)finally.Their structures were confirmed by FT-IR,The 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectra.2.The diamine monomers BNPPA and BMNPPA were polymerized with diacyl chlorides containing different structures in DMAc by a low-temperature polycon-densation method.A series of polyaramide amides PA1 and PA2 containing fluor-enone side groups and methyl side groups were prepared.And their structures and performances were analyzed.The values of logarithmic specific viscosity of the synthesized PA1 and PA2 polyaramides were between 0.57-0.82 dL/g and 0.60-0.77 dL/g.PA1 polymers are soluble in strong polar solvents and slightly soluble in tetrahydrofuran under heating.PA2 polymer can not only soluble in strong polar solvents such as NMP,DMF,DMAc and DMSO,but also in tetrahydrofuran and toluene at room temperature.Two series of PA1 and PA2polyaramides are amorphous structures,the glass transition temperature of them is 224-297 ? and 234-282 ?,respectively.The temperatures at 5%weight loss of PA1 were recorded in the range of 445-464 ?.The temperatures at 5%weight loss of PA2 were recorded in the range of 441.5-443.5 ?.The temperatures at 10%thermal weight loss of PA1 and PA2 were 478-493.5 ? and 457-464.5 ?,respectively.the carbon residue rate at 750 ? was 58-63%and 57-65.5%,respectively.They also have good mechanical properties.The tensile strength of the film is basically 50 MPa or more,the elongation at break is 6-21%,and elastic modulus is 0.815-1.529 GPa.It can be used as a high-strength engineering plastic.Two series of PA1 and PA2 polymer films have properties of high light transmission.When the wavelength of light is 800 nm,the transmittance is more than 89%,and the truncated wavelengths are all above 350 nm.3.The same aromatic diamines(BNPPA and BMNPPA)and five different structures of aromatic dianhydrides PMDA(a),BPDA(b),BTDA(c),6FDA(d),and 4,4'-HQDPA were used to preparing polymer.The prepolymer polyamic acid was first obtained through a low temperature polycondensation reaction,and then the polyimide was prepared by thermal imidization.The values of logarithmic specific viscosity of PI1 and PI2 series polyimides are 0.61-0.87 dL/g and 0.57-0.81,respectively.A series of PI1 polyimides are only soluble in some of the strong polar solvents,but they are insoluble in the less polar solvent.A series PI2 of polyimides can be not only soluble in strong polar organic solvents,but also are soluble in some weak polar organic solvents,such as tetrahydrofuran.Two series of PI1 and PI2 polyimides are amorphous structures with the glass transition temperatures of 311-373 ? and 262-313 ?.The temperatures at 5%weight loss of PI1 and PI2 in nitrogen atmosphere were 524-536 0C and 448-500 0C,respectively.The temperature at a temperature of 10%by weight loss is between 536-560 ? and 465-543 ?,respectively.The carbon residues at 750 ? are 59-64.8%and 46-61%,respectively.In addition,they also have good mechanical properties.The series of PI1 polyimides film has a tensile strength of between 76.88-110.57 MPa,an elongation at break of 5.88-35.66%,and an elastic modulus of 0.999-1.572 GPa.The tensile strength of the imide film is basically between 76.43-101.58 MPa,the elongation at break is between 5.94-11.09%,the elastic modulus is between 0.914-1.537 GPa,and it can be used as a high-strength engineering plastic.The transmittances of the PI1 and PI2 polyimides at 800 nm are 81.1%-87.9%and 88.4%-92.2%,respectively.The optical performance is very good.In addition,both PI1 and PI2 polyimides have carbon residue of 50%or more at 750 ?,and they have high flame retardancy and heat resistance.
