Two component supramolecular gels have attracted much attentions in recent decades due to exhibite well-controlled structure and characteristics.Based on our previous researches, this paper studied three different series of two component gel systems aiming to improve the performance of gel system through changing the compositions of the components or functional modifications in one of the component. This paper is divided into three main parts to study the main content:1.pyrazine dicarboxylic acid and melamine were mixed at different ratios to yield three mixtures. The gelation properties of the three samples were tested and all formed stable gels both in water and some aqueous organic solvents.SEM measurements were conducted to check the morphologies of the gels.FTIR and UV-vis spectra suggested that hydrogen bonding was the key driving force for the gel formation. The results of XRD indicated that the gels were lamellar structure. The gelling behavior in different water with various pH values was studied and the result showed pH-responsive.And the interactions between the solvent and gelator were studied through Hansen solubility parameters.2.Using fatty acids and amines as two components,we tried to prepare hydrogels. The tests found that only the system reached a balance between hydrophilic and hydrophobic can form gel. When heated, the gel formed by stearic acid and 1,6-hexamethylenediamine at 1:1 ratio exhibited gel-gel-sol phase transition while the gel obtained from increasing the ratio of acid to 2:1 only showed gel-sol phase transition. The analysis of SEM ? XRD ?IR ? UV and DSC showed the hydrophobic and hydrogen bonding were the main driving forces for gelation.3.Designed and synthesized three hydrazide compounds and both the single component gel properties and mixed with 9-anthracene were tested. The results showed that two component gels have higher thermal stability and lower minimum gel concentration.
