Coordination polymers?CPs?have recently received much attention due to their rich structures and their potential applications in adsorption,separation,catalysis and so on.In this thesis,we have demonstrated the construction of a set of multidimensional CPs from reactions of two diene ligands,1,4-bis?2-?pyridin-4-yl?vinyl?naphthalene?1,4-bpyvna?,5-fluoro-1,3-bis?2-?pyridine-4-yl?vinyl?benzene?fbpvb?with Zn?II?or Cd?II?in the presence of various carboxylic acids.With these compounds,we have explored their applications in the luminescent detection of mecury?II?,aluminum?III?and the sorption of iodine.Described below are the main research contributions in this thesis.1.Solvothermal reactions of Zn?NO3?2·6H2O,1,4-bpyvna with 1,3,5-H3BTC or4,4'-OBAaffordfiveCPs[Zn2?1,4-bpyvna??1,3,5-HBTC?2?H2O?]n?1?,{[Zn2?1,4-bpyvna??1,3,5-BTC??OH?]·H2O}n?2?,{[Zn?1,3,5-HBTC?2?H2O?][1,4-bpyvna-H2]·CH3CN}n?3?,{[Zn2?1,4-bpyvna??4,4'-OBA?2]·0.5DMF·2.25H2O}n?4?and{[Zn2?1,4-bpyvna??4,4'-OBA?2]·3DMF}n?5?.Meanwhile,we employ 1,4-bpyvna and the representative compound 2 to detect Hg?II?in aqueous solution via the luminescent quentching technique.Compound 2 shows high selectivity,high anti-interference,quick response and recyclablity associated with the detection limit for Hg2+being as low as 57 ppb.2.Solvothermal reactions of Cd?NO3?2 with fbpvb and 1,3-H2BDC produce a 2D CP{[Cd2?fbpvb?2?1,3-BDC?2]n·0.5DMF·2H2O}n?6?.Upon UV light irradiation,pairs of fbpvb ligands in 6 undergo 2+2 cycloaddition to yield a dimeric tpfpeh ligand in another 2D CP{[Cd2?tpfpeh??1,3-BDC?]·0.5DMF·H2O}n(7,tpfpeh=3,4,12,13-tetra?4-pyridyl?-8,17-bisfluro-pentacyclo[13.3.1.16,10.02,5.011,14]eicosa1?19?,6,8,10?20?,15,17-hexane)in a single-crystal-to-single-crystal manner.Compared with the parent compound 6,compound 7,whose structure is somewhat post-modified by the above-mentioned[2+2]photochemical cycloaddition,witnesses better selectivity and sensitivity towards the luminescent detection of Al3+in MeCN and shows good performance in absorbing iodine vapor.
