As an emerging member of carbon-based nanomaterials,carbon nanodots have attracted widespread attention in many fields in recent years.Due to its excellent photoluminescent properties,good biocompatibility and simple inexpensive preparation,carbon nanodots have significant applications in biological imaging and material detection.In this paper,carbon nanodots are selected as fluorescent nanoprobes,they are applied to the detection of small molecule compounds and biomolecules.The specific results are as follows:(1)Carbon nanodots(YCDs)were prepared by a hydrothermal method using dithiothreitol and p-phenylenediamine as carbon sources.Due to the choice of a carbon source containing sulfur,the prepared carbon nanodots contain disulfide bonds.Since glutathione(GSH)has strong reducing properties,it can undergo redox reactions with disulfide bonds.It has been experimentally confirmed that YCDs only have good response to GSH in six similar structures of sulfhydryl compounds.The system changed from the original dark blue fluorescence to lake green fluorescence.Its responsive GSH concentration ranged from 0.5 to 14 mM with a detection limit of 0.17 mM.No response to other interferents.This has also opened up the YCDs detection of GSH can be applied to a wider range of areas.(2)According to reports,three kinds of carbon nanodots with different amino groups were prepared by microwave and hydrothermal methods.Based on the Schiff base reaction mechanism,it was found that five benzaldehyde derivatives can quench fluorescence of three kinds of carbon nanodots with different degrees.Thus,three carbon nanodots are designed to form a sensor array.From the scatter plot,it is easy and clear to distinguish five benzaldehyde derivatives.When the benzaldehyde derivatives concentration is greater or equal to 0.5 mM,the sensor array has a good discrimination effection.The same experiment also shows that the detection of this sensor array in an actual sample still has satisfactory results.
