Antimicrobial peptides(AMPs),which are excellent in killing against various microbial pathogens,have been widely used in the design of antibacteial materials.Except antimicroial ability,many great abilities of AMPs have been found recent years,such as special affinity for bacteria,while maintaining anti-biofouling toward non-targeted biomolecules.Besides,AMPs have also played an important role in immunoregulation,stimulating cell proliferation,vasculogenesis and more other functions.However,little attention has been taken in these abilities.Our research focused on the abilities of AMPs,combined with the photothermal and contact-killing antibacterial materials,to fabricate the novel antibacterial interfaces.1)Photothermal therapy(PTT)has been regarded by many researchers because of its efficient killing activity.However,for killing bacteria,the temperature must be as higher as 75?.The high temperature in infectious sites may destroy the healthy tissues,which limited its further application.To solve this problem,we took advantages of the special affinity of AMPs for bacteria.The AMPs Magainin I modified polydopamine nanoparticles were obtained to.construct accurate antibacterial materials for PTT.After 808 nm laser irradiation,the bacteria E.coli and MRSA were efficient killed at the temperature of 48?.2)Cationic materials based on quaternary ammonium compounds(QACs),have been widely used in various fields.However,the high density of positive charges tends to induce weak hemocompatibility,which has hindered the application of the cationic antibacterial coating in the blood-contacting devices and implants.To address this issue,inspired by the mixed-charged structure and anti-biofouling ability of AMPs,we constructed the mixed-charged biomimetic-peptides copolymers coating.The biomimetic-peptides copolymers coating combined both bactericidal property and hemocompatibility,can efficiently prevent blood cell adherent and kill bacteria.
