At present, the depletion of oil resources has accelerated drastically.According to 2013 levels of exploration, the proven oil reserves on Earth are only enough for human re-mining for more than 40 years.Looking for renewable energy that can replace oil resources, changing the energy consumption structure is imminent.Nevertheless, among all the new types of energy, biomass is the only carbon-based energy and has an irreplaceable advantage in the preparation of fuels and chemicals. As the most abundant biomass resource in nature, lignocellulose has become a hot spot for researchers in recent years. At present, great progress has been made in the efficient conversion of lignocellulose, which is produced directly from lignocellulose by chemical degradation of furfural(FF),5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF),levulinic acid(LA),lactic acid and a series of biomass platform molecules have been achieved.Furfural production has reached the scale of industrialization, the data show that China is the world's largest furfural producer and exporter, which with rich furfural resources.Among many downstream derivatives of furfural, alkyl levulinates and ?-valerolactone(?-GVL)are the most competitive ones with low toxicity, high boiling point, high added value and high commercial value.Based on the concept of sustainable development and green chemistry, our research has focused on the conversion of furfuryl alcohol to alkyl levulinates. We synthesized several highly charged anionic heteropolyacids and heteropolyacid ionic liquids to achieve furfuryl alcohol to alkyl levulinates. At the same time, the influence of the catalyst structure and the Hammett acidity on the catalytic performance of the catalyst was summarized by studying the Hammett acidity function. In future experiments,we will further study the conversion of alkyl levulinates, furfuryl alcohol and furfural to ?-valerolactone.In the first chapter,we introduced the classification of biomass and its development in recent years. The transformation of hemicellulose at domestic and foreign, the preparation, application and downstream products of alkyl levulinates,?-valerolactone.In the second chapter, the progress of alcoholysis of furfuryl alcohol to alkyl levulinates catalyzed by solid acid is reviewed. We synthesized heteropolyacids with high charge density and ionic liquid heteropolyacids.Using this catalyst,we achieved 94% yield of butyl levulinate, and we tested the Hammett acidity of several heteropolyacids and heteropolyacid ionic liquids, reveals the relationship between its catalytic effect and Hammett acidity. In addition,we summarized our research and looked forward to further conversion of alkyl levulinates. In summary, the conversion of furfural from the biomass platform was the core of the study, and the efficient conversion of furfuryl alcohol(FA)to alkyl levulinates.
