Lithium oxygen battery,as a new energy system,has a higher theoretical energy density,which is nearly ten times higher than li ion batteries.Therefore,it has attracted a lot of attention in recent years.People devote themselves to do research on lithium oxygen batteries and accelerate its practical application.In this essay,we mainly study the cathode of the lithium oxygen battery and focus on the transition metal oxide.With many different technological means,study the properties of the materials and the effect of different materials to the performance of the batteries.Firstly,four kinds of materials?MCo2O4,M=Ni,Mg,Fe,Cu?were produced.These materials were mixed with carbon material?conductive additive?and PVDF as the cathode.More important,by analyzing the data of cycling performance,choose one best material that worth deeply study.Then,try to combine the material NiCo2O4 and CNTs together,and test its performance.Thirdly,we choose MgCo2O4,which has excellent electrochemical properties,as the catalyst of the cathode.Using the three-dimensional graphene supported by Ni foam as the base,growing MgCo2O4 on the surface of graphene.With this cathode,on one hand,it has a stable three-dimensional architecture;On the other hand,it combined the excellent catalytical properties of MgCo2O4.We also study the formation and decomposition of Li2O2 during charge/discharge process.Fourthly,under the cathode MgCo2O4@3D-G,noble metal catalyst Au was used.The main task is to study the effect of the noble metal to the performance of batteries,including cycling performance and overpotential.With these four different steps,on the one hand,considering the condition of the four materials,including its properties and research status,find the suitable transition metal oxide cathode MgCo2O4;On the other hand,improve the architecture of the cathode.Use three-dimensional architecture and combine the excellent properties of graphene and noble metal Au,the performance of lithium oxygen batteries improved gradually.The material of MgCo2O4,which firstly used as the cathode in lithium oxygen battery,showed excellent performance,this will be guidance to the application of lithium oxygen battery in the future.
