Application Of Shadow Play In Modern Lighting Decoration Design

With the improvement of people’s material living standards,spiritual needs are also increasing.The demand for products has also improved from the previous satisfaction of functional requirements to the current aesthetic needs.It goes without saying that this is the progress of society.Today,the degree of industrialization in our country has been continuously improved,and the shift from "manufactured" to "intellectual-made" has also been proposed at the national level.However,it is undeniable that the design products in the Chinese market have not yet established a general high demand for aesthetics in a short period of time.Personalized aesthetics and popular aesthetic designs cannot form their own scale,and similarities and imitations still exist.As a design learner and practitioner,I also continue to think about how to inherit and carry forward the quintessence and design works with Chinese characteristics.I think we can look for "answers" from the traditional Chinese culture.Chinese shadow play is an important part of traditional Chinese culture and one of the most typical folk arts in Chinese traditional culture,with a long history and high cultural and artistic value.Its color and styling elements have unique aesthetic features,which are the crystallization of the wisdom of past shadows and are the “living fossils” of traditional Chinese culture.Apply shadow play elements to contemporary decorative designs to form a unique Chinese design style,so that more people can pay attention to and recognize shadow play,understand Chinese traditional culture,protect traditional culture,and protect intangible cultural heritage.,which are the main purpose of this design.This paper mainly focuses on the shadow play,trying to combine the elements of shadows with modern lamps,draw on and reshape the shadow play,and reconstruct the colors of shadow play in line with thecontemporary aesthetics.Apply the shadow element to the decorative design of the shadow lamp,to design ornaments with traditional Chinese culture.The feasibility of combining Chinese traditional culture with modern design is demonstrated in practice.
