Lead is commonly used in copper-based bearing materials as self-reducing phase.However,lead-free copper-based bearing materials is imperative due to the toxicity of i.In this paper,FeS was chosen as self-lubricating phase.Due to the poor cmbination between FeS and Cu-based materials,and agglomeration of FeS,FeS/Cu-based alloyed powders was prepared by mechanical alloying tallurgical method was prepared lead-free FeS/Cu-based bearing materials,and carried out mechanical properties and tribological properties under different powder preparation technology.The results showed that mechanical alloying can effectively improve the interfacial bonding between FeS and Cu matrix,and improve the uniformity of FeS distribution.Due to the change of powder morphology and work hardening,the quality of the pressed material was reduced.The dispersion of FeS also splits the continuity of the matrix leading to the decrease of the mechanical properties.Under the same powder milling time,the material prepared by mixing the ball milled powder and the non-ball milled powder(Method 2)has better performance than the material prepared by ball milling powder direct pressing and sintering(Method 1).With the powder milling time and the increase of the FeS content the performance of the material prepared by the method 2 decreased.During the process of friction and wear,FeS aggregates to form a lubricating film,and a part of the copper-based material is transferred to the counter part to form a transfer film,thereby achieving a better anti-friction effect.The material prepared by mechanical alloying is more complete than the material prepared by powder milling and the transfer film,and the effect of anti-friction and anti-adhesion is better.Under the same powder milling time,the material prepared by method 1 has a more uniform dispersion in the matrix than method 2,and therefore the friction coefficient is smaller;the material prepared by method 2 has beteer mechanical properties due to the doping of un-milled powder,therefore less wear and tear.Taken together,method 2 was chosen as powder preparation method,the powder milling of 5 hours,the load 150 N,FeS content of 4 ~ 6%,the material showed better tribological properties.
