Polyketone(PK)is an engineering plastic with excellent properties.It has great potential in the fields of electronics,electrical appliances,automobile parts and textiles.But PK's toughness is not enough,which limits its application.Therefore,toughening modification has been an important direction of PK modification in recent years.The blends of PK with elastomer(ethylene ocenene grafted maleic anhydride(POE-g-MAH)),PK with elastomer and inorganic filler(POE-g-MAH and SiO2,AT)and PK with thermoplastic(PA66)blends were prepared by melt blending,tested by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),differential scanning calorimeter(DSC),impact testing machine and electronic universal testing machine.The morphology and properties of the blends were researched,and discussed the toughening effect of different toughening modification methods on PK.The results show that when POE-g-MAH was used as toughening agent,the toughness of the blends could be improved obviously.When the content of POE-g-MAH was 15%,the impact strength was 48.4KJ/m2,increased 30.4KJ/m2.At the same time,the strength and modulus of the blends are all significantly decreased,the tensile modulus reduced 200MPa to 523.3MPa,bending strength was only 67.9MPa,the bending modulus had reduced 300MPa,and the addition of POE-g-MAH also resulted in the change of PK crystallization performance,the crystallinity decreased with the increase of POE-g-MAH content.The results of inorganic filler filling PK/POE-g-MAH show that the filling of inorganic filler could keep the rigidity of the blends.But,the contribution to the improvement of the toughness of the blends was limited,only a small increase when the content of SiO2 was 6%.The filling of a proper amount of inorganic filler can effectively promote the crystallization of PK.When the content of AT was 8%,the crystallinity of PK reaches 30.7%,which was close to the crystallinity of pure PK.The changes of properties of blends is closely related to the dispersion of inorganic fillers and elastomers in the matrix.When use the PA66 toughen PK,it was found that when the content of PA66 was low,the particle size of PA66 dispersed phase was smaller and the distribution was more uniform.The dry impact strength of PK/PA66(80/20)blends reached 29.5KJ/m2,the impact strength of the wet state was 4 times that of pure PK.The strength and modulus of the blends increased obviously,but,when the PA66 content was high,the size of PA66 phase area was obviously increased.The impact strength of PK/PA66 blends showed a downward trend,and the introduction of PA66 significantly decreased the crystallinity of PK.Meanwhile,a small amount of PK added to PA66 matrix can also significantly enhance the toughness of PA66.
