As one of the key components of aeroengine,sealing performance directly influences on the working efficiency and weight ratio of aeroengine.The paper researchs the mechanism and conditions of friction and wear in high-strength graphite and C/C composites under high temperature.Base on the tribological test of high-strength graphite and C/C composties under high temperature,analyzed the friction and wear mechanism of high-strength graphite and C/C composites.Under the same conditions,high-strength graphite 3#and C/C composites had the higher temperature resistance and wear resistance.The adsorption film formed on the surface of high-strength graphite 1#in the initial stage,and the friction coefficient maintained steady.When the abrasive wear and the adhesive wear occurred,the friction maintained growth slowly.For the high-strength graphite 2#,the main wear mechanism was abrasive wear in the initial stage of wear and the friction coefficient increased.When the adsorption film formed on the surface of material,the friction coefficient decreased;the friction coefficient continuously increased when the adhesive wear occurred at the end of wear.When the adsorption film formed on the surface of high-strength graphite 3#in the initial stage of wear,the friction coefficient decreased.The main wear mechanism of high-strength graphite 3#was oxidative wear at the end of wear when the adhesive wear occurred on the surface of the material,and the friction coefficient rised steady.For C/C composites,the main mechanism of wear was abrasive wear and the friction coefficient decreased.When the adhesive wear occurred at the end of wear,the friction coefficient maintained steady.The wear rate from small to large:high-strength graphite 3#<C/C composites<high-strength graphite 1#<high-strength graphite 2#.During the friction and wear test in high temperature,analyzed the effect of different loads,roated speed and temperatures on the friction and wear properties of high-strength graphite 3#.Under lower load,the friction coefficient increased stable with the increasing of load,the friction coefficient increased slowly.Under lower roated speed,the friction coefficient increased with rising of roated speed.Under higher roated speed,the friction coefficient decreased alone with rising of roated speed.The temperature had some effect on the friction and wear properties of high-strength graphite 3#.When the temperature increased and the surface had oxidative wear,the friction coefficient decreased with the rising of temperature.Based on test-researching and analyzing of the paper,it's shown that the rules of friction and results of typical graphite materials,the effect of operating conditions on the friction and wear properties of high-strength graphite,the optimum working conditions.All of these results can provide the basic data and certain theory for seal materials for the main axis of aeroengine.
