In this paper,a new structured packing,FGT packing,which has two types:FGT-A and FGT-B,are developed The FGT packing has a special five-sections segment structure,which has "double straight line + tri-fold line"multi-fold lines.And at the corner of the adjacent fold line,a smooth transition is made.At the same time,physical and chemical methods are used to roughen and punch the surface.The structure has a diversion effect on the fluid,the double straight section can reduce the pressure drop,and the trifold line section can increase the fluid turbulence and enhance the mass transfer process.The cold model experiment was performed in a pilot test packed column to obtain the hydrodynamic and mass transfer properties of the FGT packing,and compared the FGT packing with the traditional Mellapak125X type packing.The experimental results are summed up in the experimental group and the comparison group,and analyzed and summarized in groups.The results show that the performance of FGT packing has been greatly improved compared to conventional packing in terms of performance.Comparing with the experimental packings of the same specifications,the HETP of FGT-A packing is small,and the mass transfer performance is more superior;the pressure drop of dry and wet of FGT-B packing is lower,the gas flooding velocity is higher,and the hydrodynamic properties are higher.For the comparative experiment,compared with the Mellapak125X type packing,the dry pressure drop of the FGT-A packing and the FGT-B packing decreased by an average of 22.94%and 31.99%respectively;the wet pressure drop decreased by an average of 41.48%respectively.And 47.32%;the gas flooding rate increased by an average of 4.93%and 7.76%respectively;the HETP decreased by an average of 22.78%and 26.72%respectively.In this paper,based on the theoretical analysis of the pressure drop model of the FGT packing,a reasonable fitting and simplified treatment,combined with the classical fluid mechanics model,has been applied to predict the fitting of the fluid mechanics performance of the FGT packing.The calculation results show that the relative fluid mechanics model obtained by the correlation fitting has high precision,the relative deviation of the calculation results is within 10%,and the model extrapolation and prediction range are large.The resulting correlation model can be used to guide the FGT packing suitable for industrial production.In this paper,starting from the FGT packing structure,the assumption of the actual flow path is simplified with the wet-wall tower model,and the upper fluid micro-elements are taken to simulate the flow status of the entire tower.Based on the analysis of momentum balance and combined with the characteristics of FGT packing,the FGT pressure formula was derived.The results show that the model has high calculation accuracy and the relative deviation of the model is within 10%.Therefore,the model can be better used to calculate and predict the pressure drop of dry towers of FGT packings.
