Synthesis And Catalytic Property Study Of Late Transition-metal Complexes Based On Nitrogen-containing Ligands

The synthesis of late transition metal complexes with novel structures has attracted considerable interest because of improving the reaction activity and selectivity in catalytic reactions.In this dissertation,some late transition metal complexes based on iridium,copper and rhodium compounds are synthesized.Some exploration of their application in the field of catalysis has been done.i)Air-and moisture-stable cationic and neutral rhodium complex are synthesized based on flexible ligands under different reaction conditions.The cationic rhodium complex shows reusable and high catalytic activity for the hydrogenation of acetophenone derivatives and is reused for at two cycles without any loss of activity.ii)A series of mononuclear half-sandwich cyclometalated iridium and rhodium complexes are synthesized based on bis-imine ligands in good yields through metal-mediated C–H activation.DFT(Density functional theory)calculations confirms that the energy needed for formation of binuclear half sandwich compounds from ligand is too high,so it is not possible to produce binuclear half sandwich compounds in the reaction.The iridium complexes displays good catalytic activity for the aromatic imines to the corresponding amines.iii)Treatments of cupric acetate monohydrate with Schiff base ligands afford the mononuclear copper complexes.The crystallographic data confirms that the structures of these copper complexes are planar.The optimum condition for norbornene polymerization is obtained by screening reaction temperature,time and the ratio of MAO(Methylaluminoxane)to copper complexes.
