A novel waterproof and moisture-permeable laminated composite fabric is prepared in this paper by a film which has a waterproof and moisture-permeable function with a fabric and a special adhesive via the lamination.The main waterproof and moisture permeable function of the fabric is its core layer-the waterproof and breathable functional film.Until now,the polytetrafluoroethylene?PTFE?stretching microporous membranes and the hydrophilic thermoplastic polyurethane?TPU?nonporous membranes,waterproof and moisture-permeable membrane,are the commercial products in current market.Nevertherless,the PTFE microporous membrane possesses the excellent waterproof and moisture permeability performance,but for the expensive cost,foreign monopoly,and instability,which exerts a great influence on the application.In addition,the slipperiness and non-tackiness of the PTFE polymer also cause a trouble of the post-processing.In comparison to the PTFE,TPU films,with the drawbacks in poor moisture permeability,have lower processing costs,and the non-porous structure gives it a higher hydrostatic pressure resistance.Thereafter,a coordinated process was developed to a new high-performance TPU moisture-permeable laminated composite fabric in the thesis,which was elaborated in the next three parts:first of all,a TPU film,with superior moisture permeability,is selected as a replacement of PTFE microporous membrane;the next part,a moisture curing polyurethane hot melt adhesive for fabric composites with good moisture permeability and adhesive strength was prepared;finally,the effects of different laminating composite process on the wearability of TPU film laminated composite fabrics were explored.Part1,the TPU material and its pellets are selected,and a non-porous TPU film is blown by the melt-blending method to fabricate the process section for laminating the composite fabrics.Moisture and air permeability of the TPU films are analysed by various thicknesses,temperatures and relative humidity.Surface morphology,composition and thermal stability of the films are also characterized.The results show that the moisture permeability of the films decreases with the increasing of film thickness.The highest values of moisture permeability are measured as 7093g/?m2·day?with the film thickness of 0.012 mm by the ASTME96 BW-2000 standard method.Moisture permeability increases the increasing of temperature and humidity.The SEM images of the films illustrate that the surface has no porous structure.Furthermore,the results of permeability test indicates that the films are impermeable with CH4 and N2,and could form a biological defence against bacteria and viruses.The results of FTIR infrared spectroscopy show an apprent Si-O stretching vibration absorption at 13001000 cm-11 peak,which indicates the nanostructural SiO2 was doped in the TPU.Totally,the results demonstrate the films are highly permeable and non-porous,and have potential applications in outdoor clothing,especially in the medical clothing fields.Part 2,PUR hot melt adhesive is synthesized in the manufacture of technical sections for laminating composite fabrics.The reactive moisture curing polyurethane?PUR?hot melt adhesive is prepared by polyether glycols with diisocyanates via bulk polymerization.First,the influence of reaction temperature and reaction time on the performance of PUR hot melt adhesive is investigated.The optimized synthesis conditions of PUR hot melt adhesives are obtained as follows:reaction time and reaction temperature are 2 h and 90oC,respectively.Second,the effects of NCO%content in PUR hot melt adhesive,the amount of terpene tackifier resin and the amount of silane coupling agent on the bonding strength of PUR hot melt adhesive are studied.The result showed that the PUR hot melt has the best adhesion effect under the amount of 3.5%of NCO%and 5%of tackifying resin,respectively.Part 3,PUR hot melt adhesive plays a role of an adhesive,and the polyester?waterproof level 5?and nylon?waterproof level 5?fabric were respectively combined with TPU film by PUR hot-melt adhesive.The effects of processing parameters on the performance of laminated composite fabrics are studied,such as processing temperature,compound gap and amount of PUR hot melt adhesive,the results show that the content of glue between the polyester fabric and the film was 12g/m2,the lamination temperature was 90oC,and the compound gap was-0.2 mm,and its comprehensive performance was the best.As for the nylon fabrics,the FDY?fully drawn yarn?types of nylon fabric's fiber,has the characteristics of orderliness and high adhesion between the fibers.In addition,the effective length of adhesion and mechanical incorporation is relatively short,when the hot-melt adhesive dots adhere to the FDY fiberand,and the surface energy of the nylon fabric is rather low,which results in the worse wearing performance of the nylon laminated composite fabric under the all measurement conditions.Thus,FDY type nylon fabric is regarded as an unsuitable raw materials of the compound fabric in our process.
