The social and economic development of our country has developed rapidly,and the living standard of people has been greatly improved.Along with the rapid economic development,our country is facing a series of environmental problems such as ecological destruction,environmental pollution and land degradation etc..It is very necessary to conduct an in-depth study on the existing environmental problems in our country.At present,the studies on the temporal and spatial evolution of the ecological environment in China are insufficient,and the research on driving force analysis is also still lacking.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the characteristics of the temporal and spatial evolution of the ecological environment in China.Based on the multi-source remote sensing data,such as MODIS data,nighttime light data and Landsat data as well as the socio-economic statistics and meteorological data from 2002 to 2013,the evaluation model of the national ecological environment quality is established based on the combination of multi-criteria decision-making techniques and principal component analysis.The main achievements are as followed:(1)The multi-criteria decision-making technique and principal component analysis are implemented to realize the integrated assessment of vegetation cover,natural factors of atmosphere,soil and water,and socio-economic statistical factors to build a comprehensive and representative national eco-environmental quality assessment model.A scientific,accurate,reasonable,and synthesized assessment of eco-environmental quality in China is to make up for the deficiencies in the comprehensive evaluation of eco-environmental quality based on RS and GIS technology.(2)Based on the long time series data,this thesis analyzes the trend of ecological environment over time and the trend of change with the social and economic development and relevant policies.With the guidance of multi-scale theory,it has made a multi-scale spatial analysis of the ecological environment in China.The nighttime light data of DMSP / OLS is introduced to extract the cities in the whole country and construct a spatial evaluation pattern from "whole" to "local" in the whole country such as eight economic zones-provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities-urban agglomerations.(3)Lastly,we discuss the correlation between environmental quality,various evaluation factors,as well as socio-economic factors such as population and GDP,and determines the main driving factors and limiting factors of eco-environmental quality change,then makes relevant analysis in this thesis.
