As an important material in modern industry,stainless steel has been widely used in many industrial fields,military fields,and daily life due to its high strength,corrosion resistance and rust resistance.But in the welding of stainless steel,it is often accompanied by defects such as spot corrosion,corrosion of welding joint and hot cracks,which is the most important problem need to be solved in the application of stainless steel welding.In recent years,the appearance of cable-type welding wire and its application research have made the CWW gas shielded welding become a mature and efficient welding technology.Cable-type welding wire has the characteristics of high deposition efficiency,self-rotating of welding arc,energy saving and so on.It has been widely used in ordinary carbon steel gas shielded welding and submerged arc welding,which is mostly used for hull closure and pipeline welding.In the traditional stainless steel welding,the heat input is often controlled to avoid the occurrence of hot cracks,which may result in low deposition efficiency.Moreover,the flux cored wire welding may cause more pores and uneven heat generation in the molten pool,leading to problems such as intergranular corrosion.The combination of cable-type welding wire and stainless steel welding can solve these problems.This paper aiming at the tanning of stainless steel cable-type welding wire for the following deposition rate and process properties tests,researched and analyzed the basic parameters of the cable-type welding wire,the tanning process,core manufacturing equipment and the key technologies in the tanning process,and successfully produced a?2.4mm stainless steel cable-type welding wire.Secondly,?2.4mm stainless steel cable-type welding wire and ?1.2mm stainless steel solid wire were used for flat plate welding test.The melting speed,melting efficiency,deposition rate and deposition efficiency of these two kinds of welding wire were measured and calculated.The data of the test were fitted in MATLAB and the melting speed of the two kinds of welding wires under the same power was compared.The high-efficiency and energy-saving mechanism of cable-type welding wire was analyzed from theory.Finally,?2.4mm stainless steel cable-type welding wire and ?1.2mm stainless steel solid wire were used for flat docking test and sampling,and the mechanical properties of the joint were analyzed.The research results show that the twist distance which is the most basic key parameter of the ?2.4mm stainless steel cable-type welding wire used in this experiment is22 mm,which can guarantee the compact structure and easy wire feeding.The research on loose control technology,forming and sizing technology and residual stress elimination technology in stainless steel manufacturing has solved the problems of loose structure,stress concentration and large deformation of cable-type welding wire.Under the same welding efficiency,the deposition rate of ?2.4mm stainless steel cable-type welding wire is about 82% higher than that of ?1.2mm stainless steel solid wire.The reason why the cable-type welding wire is more efficient than the normal single wire is that the length of the cable-type welding wire's peripheral wire is longer than the length of the single wire at the same length,and the actual cross sectional area of cable-type welding wire is smaller than that of the single wire.This causes the current density of the cable-type welding wire is bigger when the same current flows,resulting in lager resistance heat to accelerating the melting speed of the wire.Through the flat plate welding test of ?2.4mm stainless steel cable-type welding wire and ?1.2mm stainless steel solid wire,the samples were compared by the penetrant test,X-ray test,tension test,bending test,impact test,intergranular corrosion test,hardness test and metallographic observation.The results show that the process properties of ?2.4mm stainless steel cable-type welding wire gas shielded welding meet the standard requirements.
