Fatty acid methyl esters are widely used as a type of chemical raw materials,which can be used in polymers,solvents,food preservatives,lubricants,cosmetics,textiles and other industries.Long-chain unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters are liquid at room temperature,but they are unstable due to the presence of double bonds.Long branched-chain saturated fatty acid methyl esters have the similar properties as long straight-chain unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters have in some ways,but they have better oxidative stability,lower freezing point.These characteristics determine that in many applications of long branched-chain saturated fatty acid methyl esters are more ideal than long-chain unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters.Therefore,modifying the defects of long-chain unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters can broaden the scope of their application.In this paper,modified ferrierite and acidic montmorillonite are used to catalyze methyl oleate to branched-chain saturated ones,and the effect of alkyl branching reaction of different raw materials was compared,the application of phenol-branched-chain methyl oleate is studied as well.It also provides a new approach for the development of new technology for unsaturated long straight-chain fatty acid methyl esters modification.The effect of reaction conditions on the branching reaction of methyl oleate catalyzed by acidic ferrierites was investigated by single factor experiments,and then optimized by orthogonal experiments.The results show the primary and secondary factors that affect the product yield: reaction temperature>catalyst dosage>reaction time>auxiliary catalyst dosage.The preferred combination of reaction factors was that:the reaction temperature was 290?,the reaction time was 8h,the amount of catalyst was 10% and the amount of the auxiliary catalyst was 4%.Under the reaction conditions,the yield of the branching methyl oleate was 79.73%.Under the same reaction conditions,the effect of alkyl branching reaction of oleic acid and methyl oleate as materials was compwered,the results show that a difference in the yield of alkyl branching between methyl oleate and oleic acid,and the yield of alkyl branching of methyl oleate was higher than that of oleic acid,because oleic acid was more acidic,which will inactivate the catalyst poisoning.Therefore,selecting methyl oleate as the material was more favorable for the alkyl branching reaction.The effect of reaction conditions on the phenol-branched-chain was isomerization reaction of methyl oleate catalyzed by acidic montmorillonite was investigated by single factor experiments,and the reaction conditions for the branching of methyl oleate were determined in turn.And the reaction temperature was 200?,the reaction time was 6h,the amount of the acidic montmorillonite was 9%,and the molar ratio of methyl oleate to phenol was 1:4,and the experimental results preliminarily proved that the phenol-branched-chain methyl oleate had DPPH radical scavenging ability,oxidation resistance and emulsifying property.
