The harm of pesticide wastewater to the environment and human health has been paid much attention to by many countries. At home and abroad, the pesticide wastewater treatment technology has been focused on the chemical oxidation process, and the metal reduction method has been seldom used.Zero valent aluminum has the advantages of higher electron transfer ability and no precipitation in the larger pH range. It has a great advantage to use zero valent aluminum to treat organic wastewater.A new ecological[H]was produced in the alkaline solution by zero valent aluminum. In this paper, zero valent aluminum as reducing agent to degraded of imidacloprid, furadan and chlorothalonil in alkaline solution. This method makes a meaningful attempt for metal reduction of organic wastewater. The use of ZVAl in Na2CO3 solution on the degradation of imidacloprid, explore the influence of Na2CO3 concentration,ZVAl concentration, reaction time, solution temperature.HPLC analysis showed that Na2CO3 concentration,ZVAl concentration and reaction time had significant effect. The effect of temperature on the degradation of imidacloprid was not obvious due to the rapid reaction. The degradation products of imidacloprid were detected by high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry?HPLC-MS?.According to the degradation products, the possible degradation pathways of imidacloprid were proposed. The reduction of in Na2CO3 solution by using ZVAl showed that the effect of[H]on the degradation of furadan was worse than the hydrolysis ratio of Na2CO3.The effect of Na2CO3concentration and reaction time on the hydrolysis of furadan was significant.Using ZVAl in Na2CO3 solution to restore chlorothalonil, the results show that the new ecological[H]was effective in degrading chlorothalonil. The effect of Na2CO3 concentration and reaction time on the hydrolysis of chlorothalonil was significant. On the basis of the above study, the degradation of organic pesticides with zero valent aluminum in the presence of alkali was investigated.Imidacloprid was reduced by zero valent aluminum?ZVAl?in adkaline condition and tested by High Performance Liquid Chromatography?HPLC?.The effect of NaOH concentration, reactive time and temperature on IMI removal rate were investigated. The IMI removal rate was heavily dependent on NaOH concentration, reactive time and temperature. The degradation products of imidacloprid were detected by Liquid Chromatography Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry?LC/TOF MS?.According to the degradation products, the possible degradation pathways of imidacloprid were proposed.
