Warp sizing is of crucial importance to the weaving production.In recent years,there hasbeen no substantive breakthrough in the practice of sizing reforming.High-performance modified starch,PVA and acrylic pulp has been widely used in sizing.However,driven by the concept of energy conservation and environmental protection,the development and application of eco-friendly sizing is the key point in the transformation of enterprises.Zhejiang Yubo Textile Co.,Ltd.proposed a new sizing technology with 100% starch,that is,only using the starch as the main pulp and additives as the supplement.The technology has achieved initial success and desired sizing effect.The new application solves the problem of non-environmental protection when using PVA in sizing,and at the same time greatly simplifies the formulation of sizing agent that providing an implementable basis for automated sizing and greatly reduces the sizing cost.In addition,the new sizing technology can be weaved at low humidity with high efficiency,resulting in benefits such as increased plant comfort.However,the new sizing process is not widely used in producing,and different with the traditional sizing process.But the specific performance are unknown.And there is lack of theoretical support and systematic evaluation to the new sizing technology.This paper mainly bases on the new sizing process,through the comprehensive comparison with raditional sizing to analyze whether there are excellent aspects.This paper improves the test method of slurry adhesion,which providing more characterizable and comparable data.And it proposes section sampling method to verify the weaving performance of a new sizing technology.This paper analysis and summarize the key technology and mechanism of the new sizing process,and provide a theoretical basis for the application.The main work and conclusion are as follows:(1)Analysis based on routine detection techniques: There are differences between the new sizing technology and traditional sizing process.The differences mainly in the following areas:Firstiy,the pulp formula is simplified and the process time is shortened than the traditional process;Secondly,in terms of slurry properties,the new technology has a lower viscosity and a higher viscosity thermal stability;Thirdly,in terms of sizing quality,the new technology performs better on indexes of enhancement rate,elongation reduction and grinding rate;Fourthly,in terms ofweaving efficiency and cost,the weaving efficiency of the new process can reach the level of the traditional process even higher,and the sizing cost drops sharply;Fifthly the new sizing process can be weaved in low humidity environments with high efficiency.(2)Analysis based on improved detection techniques: In the routine test results analysis,the efficiency of new process weaving is higher than the traditional process,but the slurry adhesion is lower than the traditional process.Through the improved test methods,the slurry adhesion of new sizing process is higher than common starch slurry,and is not much difference with the traditional process slurry.In addition,the yarn hairiness reduction rate of the new sizing technology is higher than traditional process.however,through the section sampling method,the sizing tensile properties of new technology process are excellent and the regeneration hairiness is small.In conclusion,weaving performance of the new technology sizing is great.(3)Analysis through experiments and actual production data: there mainly are four technologies in the new sizing process.Respectively,high regain sizing,high permeability sizing,low sizing rate and high environmental sizing.The moisture regain of new sizing technology is 2to 4 percentage points higher than the traditional sizing;Slurry viscosity is low,so the slurry can penetrate to the middle of the warp yarn with good liquidity and high permeability;Sizing rate dropped significantly than the traditional process;Desizing wastewater of is biodegradable,so the new sizing process is an environment-friendly technology.
