The rise of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Automobile Industry Group has brought the vigorous development of automobile non-metallic interior and exterior parts industry.Polypropylene(PP)has become one of the largest and fastest growing varieties of automotive plastics due to its advantages of wide source,low density,good mechanical balance and low price.But the application prospect of polypropylene(PP),e.g.poor toughness,intolerant scratch,large shrinkage,serious tiger striae,can not meet the automotive interior parts requirements.To resolve these problems,the research on the preparation,properties and applications of the automotive interior parts of PP material are very important.In this paper,the mechanical properties,shrinkage,scratch resistance and product tiger striae defects of the composites were investigated.Methods were developed to enhance the mechanical properties,reduce the shrinkage,improve the scratch resistance and eliminate the tiger striae defects of the products.And the quality stability of the modified polypropylene material was verified.The results showed that the PP material had good mechanical properties,low shrinkage,scratch resistance and good surface appearance.Properties of the PP material were characterized by the mechanical tests,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),polarizing microscope,scratch wear and color(?L)test,and the observation of tiger striae on the injection molding material surface.The results showed that the mechanical properties of the composites are influenced by PP base material,ethylene-octane copolymer(POE)/polyethylene(PE),fillers,nucleating agents and ethylenebis stearamide(EBS).The number of EBS,the number of screw kneading blocks and the processing conditions affect the properties of the system components,such as the microstructure.The impact of PP,toughening agent,fillers and additives on the shrinkage of polypropylene is related to the crystallinity of PP,and the effect of PP on the impact strength and forming appearance is also studied.The results of polarized light microscope showed that the effects of PP base material,toughening agent,filler and additives on the shrinkage of polypropylene were related to the crystallinity of PP.Using the filler compound technology with different particle size,the POE in polypropylene And the effect of the nucleating agent on the crystallinity of polypropylene.The use of low shrinkage PP raw material can reduce the shrinkage and shrinkage of the material.The shrinkage can be controlled with in the range of 3‰-17‰(pure PP resin),3‰-8‰ ultra-low shrinkage and low shrinkage control,to achieve the automotive interior trim polypropylene material precision size.?L test results show that: high crystalline PP,small particle size filler,ultra-high molecular weight silicone scratch agent,PP grafted material can enhance the scrape performanceof polypropylene material,?L value can be controlled The results showed that the acrylic-carboxylic acid-ethylene terpolymer and the epoxy-based aliphatic compound were used as the appearance modifier and the base material and the injection molding process were used.Improvement,the complete elimination of large parts of the car tiger grain surface.Research results of this paper has been certificated by Mercedes-Benz,Great Wall Motor,SAIC Wuling and Foton,and other OEMs,and realizes industrialization,being promoted to be applied by the market.
