Recently,with the miniaturization of instrument,micro milling has developed rapidly.As an important part of micro milling,the significance of micro cutters is increasing with each passing day.In this paper,a nanosecond laser assisted precision grinding method is introduced,which can improve the grinding efficiency and the quality of the cutting edge..The main research contents are listed as follows:(1)Ansys APDL is used to model the laser processing,and the influence of different parameters on laser-induced graphitization is discussed combined with experiments.The appropriate processing parameters under nanosecond laser are determined according to the machining efficiency and the machining quality using the Raman spectroscope and the scanning electron microscope.(2)A laser induced graphitization assisted precision grinding technology was proposed.Orthogonal experiments and grey relational analysis were used to optimize the parameters.Comparing with the traditional precision grinding,the grinding process of this technology is found to be more stable than the traditional grinding,thus effectively reducing the crack of the cutting edge,leading to a sharper cutting edge.(3)A CVD diamond round edge milling cutter is designed.The strength and modal analysis were carried out by Ansys Workbench to verify the rationality of the structure.The laser path was designed by AutoCAD,and the laser induced graphitization assisted precision grinding technology with variable laser fluence was used to fabricate the CVD diamond round edge micro milling cutter.
