With the needs of social production and development,a variety of high strength,high hardness,high temperature alloys,light alloys and other metal materials and composite materials began to be widely used in aviation,aerospace,microelectronics and defense industries.Aluminum and its alloys are widely used for their good thermal conductivity,high strength and corrosion resistance,electrical conductivity and low specific gravity.However,for thick-walled aluminum alloy thick-walled parts with a thickness-to-diameter ratio of more than 0.3,defects such as cracks,interlayers,bubbles and inclusions in the thick-walled aluminum alloy workpiece are likely to occur during processing and use due to the limitations of mechanical processing and the bad use environment.These defects pose a serious threat to product quality,easy to cause security risks.This paper,water immersion method is used for ultrasonic inspection of thick wall workpiece,and an ultrasonic testing system for aluminum alloy thick wall workpiece is designed,which mainly includes mechanical system and control system design.The mechanical part mainly carries on the structural design for the water tank and the probe frame,and realizes the immersion ultrasonic flaw detection for the aluminum alloy thick walled workpiece with the thickness diameter ratio greater than or equal to 0.3.The mechanical scanning device has designed,CTS-04 PC multi-channel ultrasonic flaw detection card,industrial control computer,data acquisition and other parts composed the control system to realize defect signal recognition and processing.This system uses the rotation of the workpiece,the spiral scanning probe motion,defect detection of Aluminum Alloy thick walled workpiece,wherein the mechanical automatic scanning device and advantech PCI-1220 U motion control card is the main part of the scanning system,the detection process in the water tank,a water tank in the uniform rotation,probe frame drives the probe along the X the Y the Z axis,uniform motion in a straight line to achieve a full range of spiral scanning,no leakage detection of workpiece.Aluminum Alloy,in the field of ultrasonic flaw detection,there are few researchers on the classification of aluminum alloy defects.Therefore,three kinds of samples containing artificial defects were prepared to simulate natural defect workpieces,and the defects of aluminum alloys were classified.Artificial samples for simulatry blowholes,inclusions and crack defects were made respectively.Using spectrum analysis technology to analyze and process experimental data,extract defect eigenvalues,analyze the characteristics of different defects,and achieve the classification of the defects of aluminum alloy thick walled workpiece.
