Hydraulic pulse fracturing technology can obtain good manufacturing crack effect by instantaneous pulse pressure effecting on the reservoir,hence this will be a more optimized production technology for the production development of low permeability oil and gas reservoir and the secondary development of old oilfield production.This article mainly studies the role of hydraulic pulse fracturing on hydraulic crack propagation in reservoir.It focuses on the three factors of hydraulic pulse fracturing(pulse pressure,pulse frequency and geostress difference).Moreover,through the research of the hydraulic crack propagation theory and the dynamic fracture criterion of rock,an explanation theory is proposed about hydraulic pulse fracturing cracks growing and propagating.The study found that: 1.Hydraulic pulse fracturing can make the wall rock mass cracks in different directions which do not conform to the law of in-situ stress.And later in the crack growth and propagation stage,geostress difference plays an important role.2.Higher pulse peak pressure does not mean more complex hydraulic fracture in hydraulic pulse fracturing.3.Multiple pulse pressure can produce more complex cracks,and the repetition of multiple pulse pressure can make the original cracks open again and again which can increase the width of cracks and improve the permeability of cracks.
