Particle impact drilling is a new type of drilling technology, which specifically applied to deep well drilling in hard formation.During the process of particle impact drilling, the drilling fluid carries particles in a high-speed to impact the pipeline, leading to safety accidents in drilling, such as rock pipeline. Therefore,it is very important to study the erosion wear of the tube system in particle impact drilling and propose the protection mechanism.Based on the theory of metal erosion, the wear mechanism of manifold erosion is discussed, and the main factors affecting erosion wear are obtained.By changing the diameter of pipe system and the analysis of pipe bending, the flushing pipe, gooseneck, drill pipe, drill pipe nozzle is the dangerous part of erosion occurred in the manifold. The DPM model in FLUENT software is used in the paper to simulate elbows, goosenecks, tubes, drill nozzles and drill pipe joints, which aims at pointing out the laws of erosive wear under different particle diameters, incident velocities, particle concentration and erosion rates and finding out the vulnerable parts. And provide the necessary technical support for the development of particle impact drilling technology.
