Glasse and ceramic belongs to the new materials,have been payed more and more attention due to its good strength,hardness,low density and wear resistance,corrosion resistance and other characteristics.The new material industry plays an important role in the emerging industry in China and it will be included into the "the 13 th Five-year development planning" of national strategic emerging industry.It will also be included into the national key special planning and become an important guide of industry transformation and upgrading.Because of their characteristics,it is hard to realize the plastic working for the conventional material.It is very important to study ductile regime machining of hard brittle materials and micro processing technology of complex shapes and parts.Based on the characteristics and mechanism of hard brittle materials in plastic processing,the geometric model of ball head milling cutter is established and the instantaneous cutting thickness model is improved.The instantaneous milling force analytical model of ball head micro milling cutter is developed using the more reasonable cutting force model of cutting micro-unit.Through the micro morphology analysis of micro millings finished surface and based on the geometry model of ball head milling cutter,using the new analytical model of S blade considered breakages,the cutting blade dynamic trajectory mathematical model is achieved considering the eccentric,tool installation error and inclination angle,so the residual height model is established based on this model which considered both cilongitudinal and transverse feed;Also the residual height model is established by geometric method that considered the cilongitudinal feed or the transverse feed only.In this paper,the silica glass is the research object,the ball head milling cutter micro milling orthagonal experiment is carried out based on the improved experiment platform,the milling force experimental data is obtained,and the cutting force coefficient of the milling force model is calculated by processing the data.The model is verified by using the new experiment,and the results show that the model has good applicability.The degree of influence of various machining parameters on the milling force and roughness is obtained.The optimal level combination of milling is obtained considering the roughness and milling force factors of this platform,and the effect of machining parameters on machined surface roughness is analyzed by single factor experiments.
