Double-scale precipitation of TiC particles enhanced martensitic wear-resistant steel to solve some deficiencies of the traditional wear-resistant steel in the performance and application.The steel breakthrough traditional technology ideas,its Ti content is 0.6%,dispersed in the matrix within the micron-level TiC particles play a major anti-abrasive wear.Study on the precipitation mechanism of micronTiC particles in this high titanium steel is still less,especially in this paper.The TiC particle reinforced wear-resistant steel with double-scale precipitation characteristics is prepared by laboratory.The matrix is martensite,micron grade TiC precipitation phase size 1-3um,nano-precipitation phase size 10-50 nm,uniform distribution,along the rolling direction there is a certain bandage.The precipitation regularity and influencing factors of TiC particles were observed and analyzed by means of coagulation experiment and various microscopic analysis and performance characterization.According to the Thermo-Calc software and some other theoretical calculations,the results show that the TiC particles precipitate along the original austenite grain boundary in the solidification stage of the steel,showing granular,lamellar,rod and zigzag,and so on.Mo element can reduce the lattice constant of TiC and form(TiMo)C,and TiC mostly precipitates around the nucleation center,and it becomes homogenized when the matrix is deformed.The cooling rate has a significant effect on the size and distribution of TiC particles and the TiC particles can berefined by the increase of cold speed.
